Who Are These Weird Old Kids?

I will be the first person to stand up and thank the gods of technology for making it so easy for music fans to access more content across more genres and eras. In the past, we were stuck with terrestrial radio stations, whatever scant record store might be able to support itself, and the occasional music magazine. Yet in my scant thirty-two years of life, we have seen the rise of big box stores carrying wide swathes of material, as well as the ubiquitous internet and the ability for someone to download whole collections of tunes onto your phone in a matter of moments. The downside of this scenario is that there might be too much music available, and this unfortunately has clouded the eyes, overwhelmed the ears, and muddles the palettes of a generation of potential artists.
