It’s past passé to rip on Brooklyn for being the progenitor of so many sound-alike hipster-approved (and then dismissed) indie-rock bands. Yet, I find that I have to make specific mention of the fact that Man The Change – with its aggressive, snarky take on vintage straight-outta-California brand of pop-punk – itself hails from this much-maligned borough. For all of the music blogs that I read, complete with descriptions of the latest and greatest attics, studios, and warehouse for the newest flavors of this very moment to play, it makes me wonder where a punk band that culls from Jawbreaker, Avail, NOFX, The Avengers, and Dischord Records actually plays shows in its hometown.
