It wasn’t too long ago that I reviewed the Herringbone EP, the debut release from Way Yes. I talked about how much I liked the band, but questioned why things needed to sound so cartoonish and childish on occasion. Well, it seems that the guys took my constructive criticism to heart when fashioning the five songs that comprise the Walkability EP, in that the goofy tendencies I found so off-putting in the band’s first batch of tunes are all but removed, leaving a very clear vision and structure with which to present some nifty Afro-pop jams.
