This winter, Seattle’s Next Great Hope, The Moondoggies, will tour with Portland trio Quiet Life. Both will be promoting new albums (Tidelands and Big Green respectively). I have had the chance to hear both of these records. When hearing them side-by-side, I imagine their classic, timeless sounds high-fiving each other on the many stages they’ll share stages throughout the country. I then can’t help but think of how these bands got together and why they make music that is so true to itself and true to the past it hearkens back too, with such an honesty that is so unique.
The following account of the bands’ creations isn’t factual at all, but it would make a great story. It goes something like this….
